ENVIRONMENT ARTIST
As Bohemia Interactive embarks on the development of a bold and unannounced title, we're searching for a passionate and innovative Senior Environment Artist. This is more than just another art position - it's a chance to be at the heart of a groundbreaking game that will influence the studio's future. You will play a key role in shaping the visual direction and quality of our game, driving artistic excellence and consistency across all assets and collaborating closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive and compelling player experience.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Art Director to define and maintain the visual direction for environment art (foliage, terrain, structures, world dressing).
Build, mentor, and lead the core Environment Art team (~6 people) and manage external art support.
Collaborate closely with the Environment Design team to ensure maps are visually compelling and gameplay-ready.
Work in sync with the Art Lead/Director and Art Producer to align priorities, schedules, and overall vision.
Align workflows and pipelines with other BI teams while keeping a distinct visual identity.
Drive pipeline improvements, document best practices, and ensure assets meet performance requirements.
Coordinate with Tech Art and the Engine team to shape tools, shaders, and workflows for the Enfusion Engine.
Provide clear feedback and guidance to internal teams and external partners.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in environment art for AA/AAA projects (ideally open-world titles).
Proven track record of leading and/or mentoring other artists.
Deep understanding of foliage, terrain, and architecture workflows for large-scale environments.
Strong knowledge of 3D tools (Blender/3ds Max/Maya, ZBrush, Substance Suite, Photoshop).
Experience with game engines (Enfusion experience is a strong plus).
Ability to adapt to internal tools and balance engine constraints with visual quality.
Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of DayZ, Arma, and/or modding communities.
